Do you have a heart for children in foster care but are unable to welcome them into your family? You don’t have to become a foster parent to deeply impact the life of a youth experiencing foster care. Come out and hear more about the critical role you can have as a volunteer advocate! Everyone can do something, could this be your something?

Milburn Orchards - Fall Family Event

November 9, 2024, Time: 11am-1:00pm

Join us on November 9 for the perfect family fall event! Come together with other foster and adoptive families for an afternoon at Milburn Orchards! If this is your first visit to Milburn Orchards, expect a lot of fun outdoor fall attractions that give kids a chance to run, jump, and play! They also have a small barnyard with farm animals!

Please bring a packed lunch for your family. We will provide some snacks and water to supplement! Don’t forget to join us for a hayride!

Just $2 per person ages 2 and up! See you at Milburn!

Chick-fil-A Night for Family Hope Coalition

November 13, 2024, 5-7pm, Chick-fil-A Christiana (next to Christiana Hospital)

Order Chick-fil-A through the app at the Christiana location on November 13 between 5-7pm and 10% of your sale will go towards Family Hope!

Coffee Break for Adoptive and Foster Moms

Monday, November 18 from 9:30-11:00am

This fall meet up with other foster and adoptive moms for your much needed Pumpkin Spice Latte (or whatever you fancy) on us during our monthly Coffee Breaks. Spend some time talking and hanging out with other moms who “get it”. Coffee Breaks this season are September 9, October 7, and November 18. See you there!

Family Hope 101

October 20, 2024, 12:00pm, Redeemer Fellowship Church Office and Bible Fellowship Church

Have you considered fostering or adopting before? Want to hear more about what the current state of foster care and adoption looks like? Want to leave equipped to be a better friend to someone you know who is fostering or adopting?
This course introduces you to the needs of children who have experienced foster care or adoption, and walks with you to find your role in helping them thrive. Learn practical ways to support families who are fostering and contribute to the wellbeing of kids who come from hard places.
We have two churches stepping up to host this event this fall!

Equipped to Care

October 21, 6:30-8:30pm, Ogletown Baptist Church 316 Red Mill Road Newark DE

When kids experience trauma, especially in their early years, it affects their brain, body, behavior, and belief system. This course is designed to provide knowledge about how trauma affects children and their brain development while equipping you with tools and skills to care for them well. Whether you are a children’s ministry worker, teacher, grandparent, or babysitter this course will help you as you serve families. This is a great way to serve families you know who are foster or adoptive parents.

Located at Bible Fellowship Church of Newark, one of our partner churches, this event will include a family photo mini-session followed up by a chance to play on the church playground and enjoy some popsicles! Just $15 per family!

KICKBALL: Family Sports Event

Local incoming UD freshman football player, Carter Sareyka, is hosting a family kickball event for foster and adoptive families. Join us for a day of fun activities, food, and of course KICKBALL!.
